An artist since her childhood, Sabre designer and founder, Lana Ogilvie, studied illustration and print making at the Art Gallery of Ontario. She pursued her Fine Art studies as an Illustrator in Montreal at Concordia University.
The move into jewelry was born from a creative need. After studying to be a fine jeweler, Lana started Sabre Jewelry. With organic shapes and natural forms, Sabre explores the possibilities of jewelry making.
‘I try to work with wax in unconventional ways, and design pieces that are more individual, almost as if the metal had been worked by hand. As an artist, there is a constant need to create. I think of myself first as an artist and jewelry is my current medium.’
Lana Ogilvie works as a model and jeweler. Sabre Jewelry is handmade in New York City.
